March 2010 Brebes 0.66 Percent Deflation

  • In March 2010 the City of Bradford experienced deflation of 0.66 percent. Three towns in surrounding areas are also experiencing deflation, which is lower than Bradford. Deflation in succession from the largest, are as follows: 0.54 percent Cirebon, Purwokerto 0.34 percent, 0.26 percent and Tegal.
  • Deflation occurs because of the price decline indicated by the decrease in price indices in the groups of goods and services as follows: 2.98 percent of the food group and the group of foods, beverages, cigarettes, and tobacco. While other commodity groups are relatively stable housing, water, electricity, gas, and fuel, clothing group, group health, education, recreation and sports, and group transportation, communication and financial services.
  • Inflation rates of the calendar year (January to March) in 2010 amounted to 0.68 percent, while the rate of inflation "year on year" (March 2010 to March 2009) amounted to 4.13 percent.

The fluctuation of prices of various commodities in general in March 2010 showed a decrease in price. Based on the result of months of March 2009 at 0.66 percent deflation, or a decline in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) from 122.79 in February 2010 to 117.14 in March 2010.

Deflation occurs because of the decline shown by the declining price index of commodity prices in two groups as follows: food group 2.98 percent deflation and food, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco 0.08 percent. No group is experiencing inflation. While a relatively stable commodity groups: group housing, water, electricity, gas, and fuel, health groups, educational groups, recreational, and sports, clothing, and group transportation, communication and financial services.

Some commodity prices declined during the month of March 2009 include: rice, fish, pomfret, squid, red snapper, yellow tail fish, anchovies, fish, bike banyar, long beans, potatoes, cucumbers, green chilies, petai , long eggplant, tomatoes, vegetables, carrots, peanuts, bananas, garlic, brown sugar, hazelnut, red pepper, chili, coconut, and sugar. While the commodity price increases are: cassava, chicken meat, salted fish anchovies, egg, spinach, corn, kale, young jackfruit, green beans, grapes, citrus fruits, melon, papaya fruit, fruits, onion, shrimp paste, and raw chips.

In March 2010 the group - the commodity groups contributed / donated deflation in a row as follows: 0.64 percent of the food group and the group of foods, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco 0.02 percent. No commodity groups contributed / donated inflation. While group contributes relatively little / donations inflation / deflation is housing, water, electricity, gas, and fuel, clothing, education, recreation, and sports, health groups, and group transportation, communication, and financial services .

Inflation Rate of Brebes City in January 2003

  • Entering the beginning of this month in the year 2003, prices rose again in Bradford, which is marked inflation of 0.25 per cent.
